The new collaboration between Working Class Zero and DRT has finally arrived. I got lucky enough to get a pair these new knobs early. They’re built from the same material as the other knobs and will come in OD Green, White, Black, Grey, Navy, and Lime. You will need the MK-1 hardware to use them which also comes in a variety of different colorways. Mike Gilbert designed these to help eliminate the slip that some experience with the rounder knobs. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable they in between your fingers. They offer a lot to grab and the grooves help you fingers form to the knobs. I put them on my Tranx 300 paired up with a 100 mm Varial Handle. I wanted to put it on a rod that I was gonna use a lot of so I could get a good feel for the new knobs. I fish a wake a lot in spring and these grips are really nice to use all day. I had slip issues with the fat knobs but that seemed to be fixed when I went to all slims. As Mike mentions in the video below, I really noticed the difference in performance with these when fishing soft baits. Having small hands becomes an issue with some of these aftermarket knobs. The WCZ Flat Knobs are easy to fish and handle well in the midst of a battle with a fish. The will be available before the end of the month. The price will be $31.95 on workingclasszero.net and drtusafishing.com as well as the MK-1 hardware sold in a set for $59.95. If you aren’t a big fan of the rounded knobs, these new WCZ Flat knobs are just for you.
