There are a lot of different ways to mount your camera equipment. It’s all about being able to capture the right angle while you’re out on the water. GoPro offers a ton of mounts to chose from but anything with their brand on it can tends to be overpriced. That being said when you spend the money you rarely have to worry about quality being an issue like you would with other aftermarket products. I am a huge fan of the Jaws mount. It has a big clamp at the base and a flexible neck made of knuckles that allows you to move the camera to whatever angle you need with little effort. My only issue with this mount was how cheap it feels. The knuckles have a decent amount of play for what I want when filming and it seemed like every time a wake would rock the boat the camera would get shaky. Not to mention that the mount is $49.99 so you can understand my disappointment when expecting something that was a little more rigid. You can mount your camera directly if you would like but this comes with limitations cause once the sticky mount is stuck it can be hard to adjust. I came across a mount made by Smatree that was was relatively similar to the Jaws mount but instead of the knuckles it has one solid neck. It immediately caught my interest because the one issue that I had with the other this one had seemingly eliminated. The Smatree Adjustable Jaws was worth a try for $13.99. Don’t let the price tag fool you. This mount is awesome. It can do everything that the GoPro Jaws Mount does but without the play. It is a far better option at a fraction of the price. You can clamp it just about anywhere you want. Whether you shore bang or fish from the boat, this mount is the best I’ve found. Cast to catch is something every angler likes to have and this mount will help you achieve that. If you're interested in picking one up you can click on the link below.
